Little Prince is Here for you!

During this strange and, let’s face it, pretty daunting time we want you to know that our focus at Little Prince is to continue to build a community that supports each other.  With that in mind we have shared our tips on how to stay happy, safe and sane when you might be having a challenging day. Don't forget our inbox is always open so if you want a chat drop by, we'd love to hear from you!

We all crave routine, especially our little ones, and while we’re at home it’s important we adapt our old routines and create new ones! Now, this isn’t to say every minute needs to be planned but drawing up weekly timetables may help to bring some structure to your day. Inevitably some days your plans will fly out the window before 10am! So putting on a film or allowing some iPad time is absolutely okay. Ultimately you are keeping your children safe, so if no-one has told you yet today, you’re doing a fantastic job!

LP’s top tip: Set your alarm at a similar time to post lock down and complete your typical morning routine. You can spend that extra time you were usually rushing around to sit at the breakfast table and get your little one’s excited for the day!

During this time your mental and physical health should be a priority. As a Mumma it’s so easy to lose sight of looking after yourself but now more than ever you need to make time for you. If possible, take that daily walk or run by yourself to help bring some calm or set your alarm 15 minutes before the kiddies wake up to make a cup of tea and get back into bed to enjoy it. Once your little one has gone to bed, take a bath and pop on a face mask or read that book you’ve had on your bedside table for months

LP’s top tip: If the day has run away from you try and find at least 5 or 10 minutes in the evening just for you. Download a calming or meditation app and take some time to clear your mind and centre yourself

We live in a world where staying connected is easier than it’s ever been so let’s make the most of it. Seeing the faces of people outside your four walls will almost instantly lift your spirits and remind you that we’re all in this together. Remembering to disconnect digitally and connect with those at home is just as important though so you could switch a film for a board game or the PS4 for a puzzle. Let’s make the most of this time, we will be wishing we had it back in the not so distant future

LP’s top tip: Bring date night home! Rustle up a nice dinner or order something in and ditch the sofa for the kitchen table. You could also have a virtual dinner with your girlfriends - grab yourself that well deserved glass of wine and put the worlds to right
